West Coast Swing (WCS), the “Official State dance of California”, is a contemporary swing dance which embodies the relaxed, laidback culture of the West Coast. The dance is characterized by its distinctive elastic feel and is unlike most other partner dances, as it allows the ladies the freedom to express the music in their own way. The dance involves smooth, rolling footwork, and is very groovy and sexy in an understated fashion.

WCS owes much of its popularity to its incredible versatility, as it can be danced to tunes from the most current pop, country, rock, hip hop and R&B artistes. This is a dance form that is truly in a state of constant evolution, always growing and changing with the music of the times.

Mosaic Dance has a young but exceptionally talented team of WCS instructors. Despite the local WCS scene being around for only 2 years, our instructors have worked hard to compete overseas and place Singapore on the World map. They have won top accolades at some of the toughest competitions overseas in the USA and Australia. Thanks of their dedication, Singapore is now respected by the global WCS community as having one of, if not the fastest-growing scenes.

The course syllabus at Mosaic Dance has been specially tailored to suit learners with no prior dance experience. WCS is a dance where creating the right 'feeling' and learning to physically communicate with your partners is more important than executing complex patterns, and that is what we promise you'll learn - the ability to end every dance with your partner smiling from cheek to cheek!
